June 2022 saw the return of the Barclays Jersey Boat Show after a 3-year absence due to the pandemic. The sun shone, the atmosphere was electric and the excitement tangible at the packed-out show that was enjoyed by 30,000+ people at the St Helier Marina and Weighbridge Place.
Branca: “We love nothing more than working on a live event and it was brilliant working alongside the team at Ports of Jersey, 3D Events and our team of creative partners for this 3-day maritime celebration.”
Hannah: “Branca designed the ‘Back on Board’ event brand and created a wide range of print and digital materials. We were also commissioned to produce the video content, graphics and photography for the live stream big screen and for social media, so we built a talented team that was perfect for the job.”
With her experience working on live TV shows and events, Hannah was in her sweet spot directing, producing, and presenting all the video content with the dedicated Media Team. Richard Hall from Rich Media and freelancer Ruben Abreu pretty much captured everything that moved, and together they delivered an epic amount of ‘quick turnaround’ interviews and daily highlights videos that they filmed and edited!
Hannah: “In the week leading up to, and over the 3 days, we produced 114 separate pieces of content that were played out on the big screen or on social media, so we needed a fast and calm event editor and graphics animator to support the media team. We knew that Liam Nunn from Milk was our man! He is always up for a challenge and he works well under pressure.”
Branca: “I worked closely with Ollie Jones, our photographer on the ground took thousands of stunning ‘on-the-fly images and a shot-list that the client wanted captured of set-up scenes with a range of models that could be used for promotions next year. Marc Le Cornu from BAM Perspectives took images and video footage from the sky with his drone. Phil Bouchard from 3C International and his team kept all the content streaming smoothly on the big screen in Weighbridge Place.”
Hannah: “The stand-out moment for me was the night before the event. Branca and I were in the on-site media hub planning the epic schedule on massive sheets pinned to the wall. There were hundreds of items that we needed to achieve over the following 3 days for various output channels, but we both had that look on our faces, we couldn’t hide the excitement, “let’s go”!
Branca: “You would think that it should be a daunting moment, but when you know that you have a talented and dedicated team behind you, it is a great place to be. Everyone was ready, fully committed to get the job done to the highest standard possible. A big congratulation and thanks to Ports of Jersey and the whole team. It really was something special.”
What a team! Boom.
“We were delighted to welcome back the Barclays Jersey Boat show after a two-year absence due to the pandemic. We’d like to thank everyone who attended for making our 2022 event such a success. We’d also like to thank BOOM for documenting the weekend to such a high standard and showcasing the eclectic mix of the event participants and activities.”
